Creative Writing 'Wow' Week
Reception class were so excited to see the creation of a ‘Where’s Wally?’ door at the entrance to their classroom!
This was the first exciting thing to happen as World Book Week approached!
Each child coloured their ‘Wally’ and positioned on the classroom door!
The following morning the children were amazed to discover that a mysterious door had landed in our playground! What could be the reason for this? Who put it there? How did it get there? What was behind the door?
Reception decided that, because there was a lot of fairy dust around the base of the door, the fairies must have put it there and were living behind it.
In class the children were amazed to find a secret fairy garden in St. Michael’s Wood, had appeared overnight. The fairies had come to stay in our classroom!
We had a wonderful time creating our fairy wishes and hanging them on the Wishing Tree, drawing a picture of our favourite fairy and writing descriptive words, painting fairies and writing a class novel!
On Thursday – World Book Day, all the children dressed up as their favourite book character and were treated to a shared read with the year 6 children. They enjoyed reading and talking about stories with the older children.!
With stories in assembly, stories outside, competitions and book fairs the children thoroughly enjoyed Book Week at St. Michaels!
