Good Morning Year 3

Hello Year 3

Good morning Year 3. Hope you all have had a lovely half term break and have been enjoying the glorious sunshine.

I have put some new work for you to complete on the Home Learning page for Year 3 - I hope you manage to complete some of these and I look forward to seeing what you have done when we get back to school. If you are finding these tricky, don't worry! You could try the Home Learning from the previous year groups. All the work in English this week is based around ‘forests’. You can email photographs to our class email and I can post them on the website.  I hope you enjoy it. In Maths we are looking at Geometry: properties of shapes and position and direction. Although we haven’t covered position and direction in Year 3 yet, the work in Year 3 for this area of maths is all consolidation work from Year 2. The grammar this week is all focussed around creating complex sentences. I hope you are all getting good at using these now.

I know learning at home can be tricky and it is not the same as being at school but please keep trying your best for your grown-ups – I am very proud of you all and the hard work and effort you are putting in.

I would still love to hear from you all and see what you have been up to. Thank you to all those children who have already been in touch – it has been lovely to hear from you and see what you have been up to. I have been busy baking again this week – strawberry cheesecake and carrot cake (this didn’t turn out well so I am going to have another go). I have also been busy with Brody making our lockdown keepsake. I have put a photograph on our blog to share with you. If you have made a lockdown keepsake, I would love to see it. Send me a picture to our Year 3 email address. If you haven’t had chance to make something yet, why don’t you have a go this week. There are lots of ideas on the website.

If your grown-ups allow it, please leave me your comments and any questions you may have on our blog. You could also send me an email letting me know what you have been up to – I would love to hear from you. Ask a grown up to photograph some of your work and attach the pictures into an email. year3@st-michaelangels.lancs.sch.uk

Please remember about Times Table Rockstars. You can go on Times Tables Rock Stars this week, between 10:00-10:30 each day. Go on ‘arena’ during these times and you can play against your class mates. I have challenged you all again - my rock star name is Ace Lily. Why don’t you send me a challenge?

I am missing you all and can't wait to see your smiling faces.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Keep safe!

Love from Mrs Coffey
