Good Morning Year 5
To Year 5,
Good morning Year 5. We hope you are all keeping safe and are still feeling the ‘Home Learning’ vibe! We know it is hard to keep the momentum of doing school work at home going but keep it up as your hard work will pay off in Year 6. You will be pleased to know that this week is a shorter four day week so you don’t need to do as much work as in normal weeks!
We hope you enjoyed the English unit on inventions. Hannah and I found a super Wallace and Gromit clip called the ‘Snoozatron’ which was fun to watch. You might like to watch it too and then deign your own wacky invention and explain how it works!
Our English unit this week is on the theme of the ‘Titanic’ so make sure you interview your family and ask them lots of questions about the luxury liner that sank. As part of your daily exercise, you might like to visit Keighley Road cemetery. In this graveyard, you will find the memorial of Wallace Hartley, a violinist and bandmaster from Colne who played on RMS Titanic as the ship sank.
Please continue to e.mail any work or photographs to us so that we can see what you have been up to and share them on our class blog.
We miss you lots.
Keep safe, keep smiling and enjoy your break next week,
Lots of love from Mrs Beebe and Mrs Holdsworth
