Hello Year 5,

We hope you are all well and have had a lovely Easter and not eaten too much chocolate. Hopefully, you have managed to make a cross which can be displayed either in the worship area of our classroom or outside in the prayer garden.

It is now time to try and get back to a learning routine. This week, our spelling work focuses on words with the suffixes –al, -ary and –ic. Why not ask a grown up to test you on the words, on Friday? You could always email us your score. The focus of our grammar work is modal verbs with the intention of using modal verbs in our English work on writing a persuasive leaflet. In maths this week, we are thinking about the most efficient methods for addition and subtraction calculations which we have already covered in previous lessons. Towards the end of the week, we will be refreshing our memories on adding and subtracting decimal numbers.
