Roald Dahl Day 2019
During Roald Dahl Day Year 3 completed lots of activities linked to the book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. We started the day by learning all about Roald Dahl and why he is so famous. We then explored the book and various illustrations. The children then went on to draw characters from the story in the style of Quentin Blake. Later in the day, we read the chapter all about the chocolate river in the factory. We then went into the hall and imagined we were sat in the boat travelling down the chocolate river. We had to use our senses to describe what we could see, hear, touch and smell. We went on to write our own poems about travelling down the chocolate river.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you to all the parents for sending your children into school in great costumes. They all looked fantastic!
