Roald Dahl Day 2019
Year 5’s focus book for Roald Dahl Day was George’s Marvellous Medicine.
First of all, the children worked in pairs to read extracts from the novel and highlight the ingredients George used for his Grandma’s medicine potion. Then, the children gathered their own ideas for their own medicine. They were given the opportunity to add household ingredients to a class medicine. Finally, the children presented their own ingredient lists on bottles using word processing skills. In addition, the children drew their own images of George in the style of Quentin Blake which they painted using water colours.
