Roman Day 2019
Year 3 had a fantastic ‘Roman Day’. All the children (and grown-ups!) came dressed in their Roman costumes and had their photographs taken with the shields they had made as part of their learning logs. Throughout the day the children enjoyed participating in a range of activities which included making a Roman coin, making Roman honey cakes, designing and making symmetrical mosaic patterns with beans and lentils, making Roman torches and wreaths, examining Roman artefacts and problem solving using Roman Numerals. The children also enjoyed working together to build a colosseum using sugar cubes and amphitheatres and aqueduct bridges using Lego.
The children had a fantastic day and have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Romans. Thank you to all the parents for supporting your children with costumes and learning logs.
All the work the children have completed will be on display in the entrance hall from Wednesday 5th June. Please take the time to come and have a look at the fantastic things the children have made.
